The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released April 2023 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes are on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- All items increased 0.4% in the last month and rose 4.9 in the last twelve months
- Food at home rose 0.1% from March and increased 7.1% since April 2022
- Cereals + agoradesign.it bakery products decreased 0.4% in the last month and increased 12.4% in the last twelve months
- Meats, poultry, fish + eggs increased 0.2% since March and rose 2.8% from April 2022
- Dairy + related products decreased by .10% in the last month and increased 8.0% in the last twelve months
- Fruits + vegetables rose 0.1% from March and increased 2.0% since April 2022
- Other foods rose 0.5% in the last month and increased 9.9% in the last twelve months
- Energy commodities decreased 5.4% since March and increased 19.7% from April 2022
- Gasoline (all types) rose by 5.2% in the last month and decreased by 12.2% in the last twelve months
- Commodities, less food + energy, decreased 0.3% from March and rose 6.6% since April 2022
- Apparel decreased by 1.0% in the last month and rose 3.6% in the last twelve months
- New vehicles increased 0.2% since March and rose 5.3% from April 2022
- Used cars + trucks rose 4.5% in the last month and decreased 6.6% in the last twelve salgen.it months
- Motor vehicle parts + equipment rose 0.5% from March and increased 5.8% since April 2022
- Medical care commodities rose 0.5% in the last month and increased 4.0% in the last twelve months
- Alcoholic beverages increased .07% since March and rose 3.6% from April 2022
- Tobacco + smoking products rose 0.1 % in the last month and increased 6.6% in the last twelve months
- Personal care products increased 0.5% from March and rose 6.7% since April 2022
