The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released March 2025 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products decreased 5.8% in the last month and rose 7.4% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds rose 0.2% from February and increased 2.9% since March 2024
- Textile products + apparel fell 0.1% in the last month and decreased 0.6% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power decreased 2.4% since February and fell 4.1% from March 2024
- Chemicals + allied products rose 0.8% in the last month and increased 2.1% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products increased 0.1% since February and rose 0.7% since March 2024
- Lumber + wood products rose 0.7% in the last month and increased 1.4% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products increased 0.3% since February and rose 2.6% from March 2024
- Metals + metal products rose by 2.7% in the last month and increased 3.8% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose 0.4% from February and increased 2.7% since March 2024
- Furniture + household durables increased 0.1% in the last month and rose 2.1% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products saw no change since February and increased 3.2% from March 2024
- Transportation equipment increased 0.1% in the last month and rose 1.6% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products rose 0.2% from February and increased 4.9% since March 2024
