The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released June 2021 Producer Price Index (PPI) today. The all commodities index rose 1.8% in the last month and increased 19.5% in the last twelve months. Processed foods and feeds rose 1.7% from May 2021 and increased 10.4% since June 2020. Meats, poultry and fish increased 5.8% in the last month and rose by 25.6% in the last twelve months. Fluid milk products increased by 2.2% from May 2021 and rose by 13.2% from June 2020. Fats and oils rose 1.4% in the last month and increased 42.1% in the last twelve months. Fuels and related products increased 3.0% from May 2021 and rose 43.2% from June 2020. Chemicals and allied products increased 2.6% in the last month and rose 22.8% in the last twelve months. Plastic resins and materials increased 4.7% from May 2021 and rose by 54.0% since June 2020. Rubber and plastic products increased 1.8%in the last month and rose 11.1% in the last twelve months. Lumber and wood products increased by 1.6% from May 2021 and rose 48.6% since June 2020 Metals and metal products rose 3.7% in the last month and rose 36.7% in the last twelve months. Iron and steel increased 6.4% from May 2021 and increased 74.0% from June 2020. Nonferrous metals rose 0.6% in the last month and increased 35.7% in the last twelve months. Machinery and equipment rose 0.5% since May 2021 and increased 2.8% from June 2020. Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment rose by 1.4% in the last month and rose 5.0% in the last twelve months. Furniture and household durables increased by 1.4% from May 2021 and rose 7.9% since June 2020. Truck trailers rose 2.6% in the last month and increased 9.1% in the last twelve months. Toys, sporting goods and small arms increased 2.0% from May 2021 and increased by 6.7% since June 2020.
