The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released May 2018 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The Food from vending machines and mobile vendors
index increased 1.2% from May – June ’18, and has increased 3.2% between June ’17 – ’18. The Motor oil, coolant, and fluids index increased by 1.1% from May – June ’18 on a seasonally unadjusted basis, and has increased by 6.4% from June ’17 – ’18. The Energy category rose 1.0% over the last month and increased 12.0% over the last year. The Vehicle parts and equipment other than tires category increased by 0.9% from May – June ’18, and has increased by 2.1% from May ’17 – ’18. The Bakery products category increased by 0.7% over the last month while showing an gain of 4.4% over the last year.
