The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released February 2021 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The all items index rose 0.5% in the last month and increased 1.7% in the last twelve months. All items less food and energy increased 0.3% from January 2021 and saw a 1.3% increase since February 2020. Fuel oil and other fuels increased 8.4% in the last month and rose 5.7% in the last twelve months. Food at home saw an increase of 0.2% since January 2021 and rose 3.5% from February 2020. Food at home rose 0.2% in the last month and increased 3.5% in the last twelve months. Carbonated drinks increased 0.6% from January 2021 and rose 7.0% since February 2020. Fresh fruits increased 1.3% in the last month and rose 5.4% in the last twelve months. Canned fruits and vegetables saw a 0.7% increase from January 2021 and rose 4.9% since February 2020. Appliances rose 1.9% in the last month and increased 7.2% in the last twelve months. Other household equipment and furnishings rose 1.3% from January 2021 and saw an increase of 4.2% since February 2020. Educational books and supplies rose 1.3% in the last month and increased 3.4% in the last twelve months.
