The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released December 2020 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The all items index increased 0.1% in the last month and increased 1.4% in the last twelve months. Food saw an increase of 0.4% in the last month and increased 3.9% in the last twelve months. Cereals and cereal products rose by 0.8% since November 2020 and increased 3.5% from December 2019. Carbonated drinks rose by 1.0% in the last month and increased 7.1% in the last twelve months. Canned vegetables increased by 0.9% from November 2020 and saw a 6.3% increase from December 2019. Juices and non alcoholic drinks rose by 0.8% in the last month and saw a 5.2% increase in the last twelve months. Processed fruits and vegetables increased 0.7% from November 2020 and saw a 4.8% increase from December 2019. Sugar and sweets rose 0.5% in the last month and increased 4.6% in the last twelve months. Dairy and related products saw a 1.0% rise from November 2020 and rose 4.4% from December 2019. Non Alcoholic beverages and beverage materials had an increase of 0.9% in the last month and rose 4.4% in the last twelve months. Candy and chewing gum increased 0.8% from November 2020 and saw a 4.3% increase in the last twelve months. Fresh vegetables rose 0.7% since November 2020 and saw a 4.2% increase since December 2019. Household cleaning products saw an increase of 0.9% in the last month and increased 5.8% in the last twelve months. Cigarettes increased by 0.7% from November 2020 and saw an increase of 5.4% since December 2019. Recreational reading materials rose 0.7% in the last month and increased 4.6% in the last twelve months.
