The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released November 2022 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products increased 6.8% in the last month and rose 29.6% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds rose 1.3% from October 2022 and increased 11.0% since November 2021
- Textile products + apparel increased 0.3% in the last month and rose by 12.9% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power rose 1.8% since October 2022 and increased by 36.6% from November 2021
- Chemicals + allied products decreased 0.5% in the last month and increased 6.4% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products decreased 0.2% from October 2022 and increased 14.3% since November 2021
- Lumber + wood products decreased 2.5% in the last month and rose by 10.3% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products rose 0.1% since October 2022 and increased 12.8% from November 2021
- Metals + metal products decreased 2.3% in the last month and saw no change in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose by 0.3% from October 2022 and increased 10.1% since November 2021
- Furniture + household durables increased 0.5% in the last month and rose 9.3% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products rose by 0.3% since October 2022 and increased 13.8% from November 2021
- Transportation equipment increased by 0.1% in the last month and rose 5.1% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products rose 0.3% from October 2022 and increased 9.0% since November 2021
