The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released June Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products decreased 4.4% in the last month and decreased 10.2% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds decreased 1.1 % from May and fell 0.9% since June 2022
- Textile products + apparel decreased 1.0% in the last month and fell by 0.3% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power decreased 10.2% since May and decreased by 32.9% from June 2022
- Chemicals + allied products decreased 1.9% in the last month and fell 6.6% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products decreased by 1.4% from May and fell by 1.0% since June 2022
- Lumber + wood products fell by 1.8% in the last month and decreased 10.4% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products decreased 0.7% since May and saw no change from June 2022
- Metals + metal products increased 1.4% in the last month and decreased 7.6% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose 1.2% from May and increased 5.3% since June 2022
- Furniture + household durables increased 1.0% in the last month and rose 3.0% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products rose 1.5% since May and increased 8.4% from June 2022
- Transportation equipment increased 0.7% in the last month and increased 2.8% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products rose 1.8% from May and increased 5.8% since June 2022
