The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released June Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products rose 1.6% in the last month and decreased 3.3% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds fell 0.1% from May and increased 1.8% since June 2023
- Textile products + apparel decreased 0.4% in the last month and rose 1.4% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power rose 1.2% since May and increased 0.7% from June 2023
- Chemicals + allied products decreased 0.5% in the last month and fell 2.3% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products rose 0.2% since May and increased 0.4% since June 2023
- Lumber + wood products decreased 0.1% in the last month and fell 1.5% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products saw no change since May and increased 1.8% from June 2023
- Metals + metal products decreased 0.9% in the last month and fell 1.4% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment increased 0.1% from May and rose 3.0% since June 2023
- Furniture + household durables fell 0.2% in the last month and increased 0.5% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products rose 0.2% since May and increased 4.0% from June 2023
- Transportation equipment saw no change in the last month and increased 1.6% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products increased 0.5% from May and increased 5.4% since June 2023
