The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released January 2022 Producer Price Index (PPI) today. Farm products rose 2.2% in the last month and increased 22.2% in the last twelve months. Processed foods + feeds rose by 1.6% from December 2021 and increased 12.6% from January 2021. Textile products + apparel rose 0.7% in the last month and increased by 15.3% in the last twelve months. Hides, skins leather + related products increased 1.8% from December 2021 and rose 2.0% from January 2021. Fuels and related products and power increased 1.7% in the last month and increased 35.3% in the last twelve months. Chemicals + allied products decreased 0.2% from December 2021 and rose 18.9% since January 2021. Rubber + plastic products rose 1.9% in the last month and increased 22.2% in the last twelve months. Lumber + wood products rose 9.0% from December 2021 and increased by 19.8% since January 2021. Pulp, paper + allied products increased by 0.7% in the last month and rose 15.6% in the last twelve months. Metals + metal products rose 0.6% from December 2021 and rose 39.2% since January 2021. Machinery + equipment rose 1.7% in the last month and increased 8.5% in the last twelve months. Furniture + household durables increased 0.9% from December 2021 and rose 11.4% from January 2021. Nonmetallic mineral products rose 4.0% in the last month and rose 10.3% in the last twelve months. Transportation equipment increased 0.4% from December 2021 and rose 4.0% since January 2021. Miscellaneous products rose by 1.8% in the last month and rose by 7.5% in the last twelve months.
