The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released July Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products decreased 2.9% in the last month and decreased 10.4% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds increased 0.3% from June and fell 0.2% since July 2022
- Textile products + apparel increased 0.3% in the last month and fell by 0.9% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power increased 1.0% since June and decreased by 22% from July 2022
- Chemicals + allied products decreased 0.9% in the last month and fell 8.1% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products decreased by 0.4% from June and fell by 2.3% since July 2022
- Lumber + wood products rose 0.4% in the last month and decreased 9.8% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products saw no change since June and fell 0.6% from July 2022
- Metals + metal products decreased 2.1% in the last month and decreased 6.4% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose 0.4% from June and increased 5.0% since July 2022
- Furniture + household durables saw no change in the last month and rose 2.6% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products rose 0.3% since June and increased 7.0% from July 2022
- Transportation equipment increased 0.2% in the last month and increased 2.6% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products rose 0.2% from June and increased 5.8% since July 2022
