The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released February Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products rose 3.4% in the last month and decreased 9.9% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds rose 1.2% from January and increased 0.1% since February 2023
- Textile products + apparel increased 0.3% in the last month and fell 0.4% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power rose 6.6% since January and decreased by 4.3% from February 2023
- Chemicals + allied products increased 1.1% in the last month and fell 3.5% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products fell 0.4% since January and fell by 2.3% since February 2023
- Lumber + wood products rose 0.8% in the last month and fell 2.7% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products increased 0.3% since January and fell 0.5% from February 2023
- Metals + metal products rose 0.3% in the last month and fell 0.2% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment increased 0.4% from January and increased 3.4% since February 2023
- Furniture + household durables rose 0.1% in the last month and increased 0.5% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products increased 0.6% since January and increased 4.5% from February 2023
- Transportation equipment rose 0.2% in the last month and increased 1.7% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products increased 0.9% from January and rose 5.1% since February 2023
