The BLS released August 2020 PPI today. The All commodities index increased 0.6% over the last month & decreased 2.6% from August ’19 – ’20. Processed foods decreased 0.3% from July – August ’20 and increased 0.3% between August 2019 – August 2020. Lumber and wood products saw a rise of 5.1% in the last month and rose 11.1% in the last 12 months. Miscellaneous products saw a 0.2% increase between July ’20 – August ’20 and an increase of 2.8% August ’19 – August ’20. Jewelry and jewelry products increased by 3.0% in the last month and saw an increase of 8.1% in the last 12 months. Nonferrous metals increased by 3.5% July – August 2020 and increased by 6.7% since August 2019. Household appliances rose 1.6% in the last month and 3.8% in the last twelve months.
