The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released August 2018 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The Carbonated drinks category increased by 2.1% from July – August and has icnreased 2.3% over the last year. The Canned vegetables index increased 1.7% over the last month and has rose by 2.4% from August ’17 – ’18. Tobacco products other than cigarettes increased by 1.0% from July to August and increased by 4.2% over the last year. The Fuel oil and other fuels group rose by 0.4% over the last month and has increased by 20.1% for the 12 months ended August ’18.
