The BLS released October PPI today. The all commodities index has increased 0.3% in the last month and decreased 1.4% in the last year. Processed foods & feeds rose by 1.1% from September 2020 and saw an increase of 0.7% since October 2019. Fruits & melons, fresh/dry vegs. & nuts increased by 9.2% from September – October 2020 and rose 14.6% between October 2019 – October 2020. Finished broad woven fabrics increased 0.2% in the last month and saw a 10.2% increase in the last twelve months. Millwork rose by 0.4% since September 2020 and increased 8.1% from October 2019. Plywood increased 7.4% between September – October 2020 and rose 46.2% from October 2019. Metals & metal products saw a 0.2% increase in the last month and increased 3.2% in the last twelve months. Agricultural machinery & equipment rose 0.5% since September 2020 and 2.4% from October 2019. Tobacco products, including stemmed & redried saw an increase of 0.6% in the last month and increased 6.4% in the last twelve months. Mobile homes rose 4.1% between September – October 2020 and increased by 15.7% since October 2019.
