The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released February 2025 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- Farm products increased 7.4% in the last month and rose 16.7% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds rose 0.6% from January and increased 4.1% since February 2025
- Textile products + apparel fell 0.4% in the last month and increased 0.5% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power increased 0.8% since and decreased 3.5% from February 2025
- Chemicals + allied products rose 0.5% in the last month and increased 1.0% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products fell 0.3% since January and increased 0.9% since February 2025
- Lumber + wood products rose 0.4% in the last month and increased 0.9% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products increased 0.3% since January and rose 2.2% from February 2025
- Metals + metal products rose by 1.3% in the last month and fell 0.1% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose 0.2% from January and increased 2.4% since February 2025
- Furniture + household durables increased 0.7% in the last month and rose 2.2% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products rose 0.1% since January and increased 3.5% from February 2025
- Transportation equipment increased 0.2% in the last month and rose 1.7% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products rose 1.1% from January and increased 5.3% since February 2025
