The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released September 2025 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):

  • Farm products fell 2.3% in the last month and rose 7.5% in the last twelve months
  • Processed foods + feeds increased 0.9% from August and rose 4.6% since September 2024
  • Textile products + apparel rose 0.3% in the last month and increased 2.0% in the last twelve months
  • Fuels, related products + power fell 0.2% since August and rose 3.8% from September 2024
  • Chemicals + allied products saw no change in the last month and increased 0.8% in the last twelve months
  • Rubber + plastic products also saw no change since August and rose 0.2% since September 2024
  • Lumber + wood products decreased 0.6% in the last month and increased 1.0% in the last twelve months
  • Pulp, paper + allied products saw no change since August and rose 0.9% from September 2024
  • Metals + metal products decreased 0.5% in the last month and increased 8.7% in the last twelve months
  • Machinery + equipment rose 0.5% from August and increased 4.7% since September 2024
  • Furniture + household durables increased 0.3% in the last month and rose 3.7% in the last twelve months
  • Nonmetallic mineral products saw no change since August and increased 2.5% from September 2024
  • Transportation equipment increased 0.1% in the last month and rose 2.0% in the last twelve months
  • Miscellaneous products rose 0.2% from August and increased 4.8% since September 2024
