The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released March 2026 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- All commodities increased 2.3% since February and rose 5.9% from March 2025
- Farm products fell 1.0% in the last month and decreased 0.4% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds increased 0.9% from February and rose 1.9% since March 2025
- Textile products + apparel fell 0.6% in the last month and increased 3.9% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power increased 9.7% since February and rose 12.5% from March 2025
- Chemicals + allied products rose 1.0% in the last month and increased 0.6% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products increased 0.7% from February and rose 1.6% since March 2025
- Lumber + wood products increased 0.2% in the last month and fell 0.3% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products rose 0.1% since February and increased 1.1% from March 2025
- Metals + metal products increased 2.0% in the last month and rose 15.4% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose 0.4% from February and increased 7.3% since March 2025
- Furniture + household durables fell 0.2% in the last month and rose 2.7% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products 0.1% since February and increased 2.3% from March 2025
- Transportation equipment increased 0.2% in the last month and rose 2.3% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products decreased 0.1% from February and increased 5.7% since March 2025
