The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released February 2026 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. Highlights are as follows (all indexes on a seasonally unadjusted basis):
- All commodities increased 2.4% since January and rose 3.1% from February 2025
- Farm products rose 8.7% in the last month and fell 5.3% in the last twelve months
- Processed foods + feeds increased 0.5% from January and rose 1.3% since February 2025
- Textile products + apparel rose 0.7% in the last month and increased 4.5% in the last twelve months
- Fuels, related products + power increased 7.4% since January and rose 0.1% from February 2025
- Chemicals + allied products rose 0.6% in the last month and increased 0.4% in the last twelve months
- Rubber + plastic products saw no change from January and increased 1.0% since February 2025
- Lumber + wood products increased 0.4% in the last month and rose 0.2% in the last twelve months
- Pulp, paper + allied products rose 0.4% since January and increased 1.4% from February 2025
- Metals + metal products increased 2.1% in the last month and rose 16.2% in the last twelve months
- Machinery + equipment rose 1.2% from January and increased 7.4% since February 2025
- Furniture + household durables fell 0.2% in the last month and rose 3.1% in the last twelve months
- Nonmetallic mineral products rose 0.3% since January and increased 2.4% from February 2025
- Transportation equipment increased 0.1% in the last month and rose 2.3% in the last twelve months
- Miscellaneous products rose 0.6% from January and increased 6.0% since February 2025
