Lee

Lee Richardson - President

 
Lee worked in the Accounting and Auditing department for Touche Ross & Co. in Omaha from 1977 to 1984. His primary clientele during that time were retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and processors with significant inventories which provided him substantial inventory accounting experience many years before the inception of LIFO-PRO.

 

Lee realized there was a need for LIFO software from his days at Touche Ross because manual spreadsheet templates and mainframe programs used left a lot to be desired. Because of this, he began development of the LIFO-PRO software in 1990 and started LIFO-PRO, Inc. (Legend Software, Inc. before 2005) in 1992. Lee wrote the majority of the computer code for the LIFO-PRO software with significant help from Paul Lewis.

 

Lee is by far the most experienced non-auto dealer LIFO practitioner in the U.S. with over 50,000 hours of non-auto dealer LIFO experience spanning 35 years.

As the only CPA in the U.S. with LIFO as his sole practice, Lee played a significant role in the development of the new IRS IPIC LIFO Regulations issued in January, 2002 and helped ensure that several provisions helpful to many taxpayers were incorporated in the final Regulations.

 

Lee has authored a number of LIFO training and reference guides which are described on the Training page of the www.lifopro.com website and has provided LIFO CPE training for CPA firms.

 

Lee is a member of the AICPA and Nebraska Society of CPAs

 

Lee is a 1975 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University. He received an MBA degree from the University of Florida in 1976 and earned his CPA certificate in 1977.

 

 

Paul

 

Paul Lewis - Director of Information Systems

 

Paul joined LIFO-PRO full time in 2005 as the Director of Information Systems, after helping Lee to develop the LIFO-PRO software on a part time basis since 1994.

 

Paul brings over 35 years of broad-based application design, development, system implementation and management experience in the information processing industry with significant work in the manufacturing and retail inventory areas. He held the position of Manager of Inventory systems from 1990 through 1998, with a 150 store retail chain where he was responsible for all inventory replenishment and new item distribution.

 

He has 20 plus years of experience in the manufacturing industry. He has extensive data processing experience in gathering, processing and presenting information that can be readily understood by all levels of the company, in multiple manufacturing and retailing environments.

 

In conjunction with his Information System experience, Paul has over 20 years of department and team management at all levels of the organization.

 

Paul is able to put his experience in using Visual Basic, MS Access and Excel to good use, because of the diverse client base and the many different ways we receive data from our clients.

 

Paul has been responsible for designing and implementing several internal LIFO-PRO systems which include a PPI coding tool that increases our efficiency and consistency in assigning the proper PPI categories to our client’s inventory items.

 

Paul received his BS degree in Marketing and Management and AS degree in Information Systems from Missouri Southern State University.

 

Paul holds the Certified Systems Professional (CSP) certification.
